Call for papers from Mathematical Modelling in Engineering & Human Behaviour 2013

Mathematical modelling of complex systems is a blooming area of applied mathematics. The aim of this novel area of research is to tackle the modeling of processes and behaviour in biology, computer science, economics, engineering and social sciences.

A paramount issue in the study of social behaviour is social contagion. The influence of the Internet and social networking has been fundamental in recent social modeling advances.

Modeling and simulation are crucial for the understanding of these complex processes. In the past few years a large of number of mathematical methods has been proposed to deal with these issues. The faster computers have been a key element in this development.

In this special issue we invite the participants to submit extended abstracts (up to 4 pages in LaTeX, by using the ijcss-template available here) related, but not limited, to the following potential topics corresponding to Mathematical Modeling in Engineering & Human Behaviour 2013 Conference to be held at the Institut Universitari de Matemàtica Multidisciplinària (Universitat Politècnica de València):

  • Networks in Social Modelling
  • Simulation in Complex Systems
  • Multi-agent Systems
  • Complex Systems and Biology and Medicine
  • Mathematical Models in Business and Economy
  • Discrete Models in Population Dynamics
  • Communication and Technological Complex Systems

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located here. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System here, according to the following timetable:

Manuscript Due October 30, 2013
First Round of Reviews December 30, 2013
